IGEA worldwide

IGEA has two main areas of interest: orthopaedics, for the treatment of post-traumatic bone disorders and cartilage lesions through the use of non-ionising physical energy; oncology, for the treatment of solid tumours using electrochemotherapy.

IGEA's oncology activities extend beyond the boundaries of Italy. More than 80 specialized centres throughout Europe use Cliniporator to perform electrochemotherapy, confirming its efficacy and reporting completely positive experiences and opinions.

Since its foundation in 1980, IGEA has developed its business on the basis of the solid scientific skills of its management and creating an extensive network of international relations, which have led to the creation of a widespread and profitable research activity capable of effectively addressing patient issues. This activity is demonstrated by the large number of international patents filed.

To achieve the goals set, IGEA is carrying out an internationalisation project aimed at expanding the use of electrochemotherapy. Branches have been set up in Germany and Great Britain and a branch in France will become active in 2012. In addition, IGEA intends to extend its activities to the United States of America, as demonstrated by IGEA's participation at the Italian Innovation Day in New York.

In its international expansion, IGEA avails itself of the precious contribution of Atlante Ventures and Innogest, which have invested 3 million Euro in the company structure.
